UroLift System Treatment
As we’ve discussed in the past, BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia) is impacting your quality of life. Depending on the patient, I typically prescribe medications for this condition or recommend a surgical procedure such as transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) or laser vaporization of the prostate.
I have found that some of my patients are frustrated with the side effects and the level of relief that medications offer. And while TURP and laser are effect surgeries – recovery time, possible complications and the potential for a prolonged hospital stay are potential drawbacks.
Today there is a new treatment option for patients suffering from an enlarged prostate which doesn’t require medications or major surgery. It’s called the UroLift® System Treatment. It’s a minimally invasive treatment that opens up the blocked urethra by lifting or holding enlarged prostate tissue out of the way. There is no cutting, heating or removal of prostate tissue. The goal of treatment with the UroLift System is to relieve symptoms so you can get back to your life and resume your daily activities. If you want to learn more about UroLift® System Treatment go to www.UroLift.com.
I’ve begun offering the UroLift System to my patients and have seen positive results. Please note, this new technology is FDA approved but may not be fully covered by your insurance. If you are a qualified candidate for the procedure, my office staff will be happy to discuss the insurance coverage and payment options that are applicable to you.
If BPH continues to be a concern to you, I invite you to set up an appointment with me to reevaluate your condition and discuss the ways you can resolve your enlarged prostate symptoms and restore your quality of life.
