What is the purpose of the study?
The purpose of this research study is to determine whether the study drug, VNX001 is safe and effective in treating bladder pain in subjects with interstitial cystitis / bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS). The study drug is a novel formulation of heparin and lidocaine aimed at delivering a safe and effective dose to anesthetize the bladder to reduce pain. The study is designed to test that the specially formulated product is better in relieving pain compared to lidocaine or heparin alone. The study drug is currently an investigational product, which means that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not evaluated for approval, the use of VNX001 by the public.
